Brief Description: This collection is an invaluable source for the early development, planning, and financing of the Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point Airport (1940-42). Materials pertaining to this period include: stock certificates (1940-41); papers of incorporation/certification (1940); bills and receipts (1940-42); correspondence with stockholders (1940-42); corporation by-laws (ca. 1940); financial statements (1941); tax statements (1940-42); contracts (1940-42); minutes of stockholders meetings (ca. 1940); and stockholders proxies (1942). Also included are reports related to later expansion of, planning and improvements to the airport (1968-89) and some early photos of Lindley Field (ca. 1925-30); a publication issued on the 50th anniversary of the airport (1991); blue prints; annual reports (1971 and 1976); and various pamphlets related to aviation in North Carolina (ca. 1940-60).
