Brief Description: This collection was donated by Katharine A. Hicks of Lynchburg, Va. It is especially notable for materials relating to Edgeworth Female Seminary.
Materials include: copy book with poems (ca. 1860-65); program for NCCW production of play “Mice and Men” (1920); invoice for Scott’s Family Grocery (1894); correspondence from W.H. Worth, State Treasurer (1896); photo of circus parade in Greensboro (ca. 1900); photo of Buffalo Presbyterian Church (1894); photo of Sergeant Major Robert D. Weatherly, 27th NC Reg., CSA (ca. 1863); photo of Andrew Weatherly (ca. 1865); correspondence between “Bettie” and Augustus Moore, including correspondence on Edgeworth Female Seminary letterhead (ca. 1860); an Edgeworth commencement speech delivered by “Bettie” Moore (ca. 1860); and the handwritten manuscript, “A Day Spent at Edgeworth,” by Bettie Moore (1858).
